Avocados

Avocado trees are thought to originate in Central Mexico. Currently, Southern California produces 95% of U.S. grown avocados. They are high in monounsaturated fat, B vitamins, and vitamin K. They also help the body to absorb more fat-soluble nutrients, such as alpha- and-beta-carotene and lutein in foods that are eaten with the fruit. We grow avocados up on our ranch and love to mash them up with some salt and lime to eat with chips!
