It’s finally spring! We are so excited to be out in the sunshine, picnicking with the birds singing. This is the perfect time to enjoy fresh food, so here are some healthy snacks to enjoy under a tree this spring.

 

Avocado Toast

Avocado toast is so trendy these days, but it really is trendy for a reason: it’s delicious. Try slicing up half an organic avocado and spreading it on lightly toasted organic whole grain bread. Ready to take it up a notch? Squeeze Organic Meyer Lemon juice and sprinkle Ocean Ranch Organic Cracked Pepper Lemon Pepitas on top of the avocado. You can thank us later!

Lavender Lemonade

On those warm, sunny days that will start to pop up through this spring, it is so nice to enjoy a cool beverage. All you need are some fresh Organic Meyer Lemons, sprigs of lavender, and some sweetener. You can use any type of sweetener you like, but our favorite recipe uses Organic Cane Sugar. Add a 2 to 1 ratio of sugar to water in a pot on medium heat, peel the lavender flowers off the stalk and sprinkle in. The more lavender you use the more pungent your syrup will be! Once your concoction reaches a syrupy consistency, strain and add to your lemon juice. Add water until desired taste. It’s that simple! In our house, we make a big pitcher and it lasts us about a week.

Trail Mix

Spring means we are out and about a bit more and sometimes we just need a snack to get us to the next meal. That’s where trail mix comes in. You can always make your own with whatever nuts, seeds, dried fruits, or chocolate that you have, but it’s much easier to just purchase some to have on hand. Our favorite is Ocean Ranch Organic Tamarind Chipotle Nuggets. These crunchy clusters are made from cashews, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. They are a perfect mix of tang and spice! Plus, they are in a re-sealable pouch, so you can take them wherever you want to go.
